5 Last Minute Getaways- June 2018

Who do I need to speak to about putting Mother Nature in time out? ‘Cause I feel like she’s throwing a tantrum at the moment and I’m definitely not here for it. I need her to get it together because this weather in Texas has officially gone mad. Usually we only have to suffer through the worst of the summer heat wave in July and August. This year, temperatures reached 100 degrees weeks before the summer solstice!   Right now, I just want to escape this blazing inferno. Luckily, I have 2 weeks of paid summer vacation coming up at the end of the month, so I figure now is the time to plan to skip town. If you’re like me and looking for a weekend getaway to beat the heat without breaking the bank, I’ve got you covered. Here are 5 flight deals that will be departing from Dallas and arriving in destinations much cooler this June.

Option 1: Dallas, Texas to Denver, Colorado.

Surprisingly, Denver is quite warm during the day as well but temps drop into the low 60s in the evening. With this deal, you can leave Dallas during Happy Hour and return home just in time for Sunday Brunch!

Option 2: Dallas, TX to Minneapolis, Minnesota

I went to Minneapolis last August and the weather was cool and pleasant. Just how I like it! If you love shopping, this is the weekend getaway option for you. The Mall of America is huge! I would say it’s one of the best attractions in the city!

Option 3: Dallas, Texas to Seattle, Washington. This destination is actually on my bucket list! I can’t believe how affordable it is to fly to Seattle this time of year.  This deal could be a Father’s Day gift idea. You could treat your dad, the father of your children, your bae, to a mini getaway or simply treat yourself!

Option 4: Dallas to Chicago, Illinois

I personally love Chicago! It’s one of my favorite cities to visit because there is so much to do! The city is a mecca for arts and culture.  I went to see the broadway show Hamilton at the CIBC Theater last October. It was amazing. Chicago has much cooler weather than Texas this time of year.

Option 5: Dallas to Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is another city on my bucket list. I recently met a couple from Boston while we were in Cabo San Lucas and they sold me on visiting the city in the near future. Their recommendation was to stay in Back Bay neighborhood which is in the center of the city or near the Boston Harbor.

And there you have it folks- 5 options to getaway in June. Which destination would you choose? If you would like to see more posts like this one on the blog, be sure to leave a comment below.
