I savored Dallas and it was good!
My blogger pal, Elle, was lucky enough to score a pair of tickets to the first event during Savor Dallas 2016, the Arts District Garden Party. Luckily for me, she needed a date and I was more than happy to oblige. Good food + good company….um, yes please!
The Garden Party for Savor Dallas took place on the grounds of the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Downtown Dallas. The venue was beautiful! The staff at the event were so friendly. I was greeted with a smile from everyone I came in contact with. As the attendees entered the space, we were gifted with a wine glass etched with slogan “Toast of the Town”, a menu, and a Goody Goody reusable bag. There was a live band playing hits from the 90s and chefs present from various restaurants around the city serving some of the best tapas and dishes I’ve eaten in a while. That’s saying a lot because we all know I live love to eat. I heard from other attendees that the wine selections were amazing. I can’t personally attest to that because I am not a fan of the taste or smell of alcohol. I know, I know…weird.
I didn’t get a lot of photos of all of the yummy food that I ate because I was too busy stuffing my face but let me just give you a quick rundown of some of the dishes that I tried.
- Chilled green pea soup with salmon- State and Allen
- Vanilla and salted caramel macarons – Savor Patisserie
- Black bean and roasted corn hummus with spicy pita chips- The Common Table
- Bananas foster bread pudding- V- Eats Modern Vegan
- Banana pudding filled donuts by Hypnotic Donuts
- Maple chipotle chicken poppers by Hard Eight BBQ
- Smoked wagyu brisket with caramelized onion jam and sweet potato from the Stir
Oh my word, the food was so delicious! Is your mouth watering from these photos! Mine totally is. There were also fun games like corn hole, connect four, jumbo jenga and more that the attendees could play and a super fun photo booth that everyone seemed to enjoy.
This was my first time attending Savor Dallas and I am so glad that I did. I had a blast with Elle and ate more than my share of goodies. I can’t wait until next year. I hope to attend the Grand Tasting event or maybe the Sunday breakfast event. Either way, I can’t wait to Savor Dallas again!
Did you attend Savor Dallas this year? Have you ever attended a food and wine festival before? Would you attend a food and wine festival?Let me know in the comments or on Facebook. I would love to hear about it!
Had so much fun hanging out with you, let’s do it again soon!
Have courage,
