World traveler…maybe?

I have been traveling a lot since around 2009 as I told you guys in a previous post. While on vacation for the past few days,  I realized that I REALLY love traveling!! I enjoy meeting new people, I like embracing the culture of the area, sightseeing, dining out, and basically just enjoying the change of scenery. It was always my dream as a young girl to see the world but my disdain for flying has held me back. I have decided (at least for the moment) that I don’t want to live life with regret. I don’t want to look back when I am old and gray  and say I should have done this or I could have done that. So I have decided that I plan to travel-the WORLD!! My husband is on board but he wants to take it a step further and LIVE all over the world. I’m not on that page yet. I love the US and I think it would be very hard for me to adapt to an entirely different culture for an extended period of time. I think I would want to come back home after about a week. So for now I will just focus on vacation spots.

I have constructed a list of places that I want to visit…sort of my own travel bucket list. Here are the top 5:

1. London of course!

2. Paris! I want to see the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and the Arc de Triomphe. I want to shop along the Avenue des Champs Elysees and discover everything else the city has to offer! And of course take a million photos in the process!

3. The Island of Malta! I love water!! This is probably due to the fact that I lived on the coast throughout my childhood and so anywhere I went was always surrounded by water. Most of my vacations are usually in an area that offers some body of water whether it be lake, river or ocean. I feel at peace around water.  The sounds of waves crashing or the current flowing always makes me feel at ease. This little island in the Mediterranean has always stuck out to me. I would love to visit the historical sites and just relax seaside.

4. Tahiti! When I think of a tropical paradise this location instantly comes to mind!! I just love the crystal blue waters of the southern Pacific ocean and just the idea of serenity that I would experience in one of the huts on the ocean. I won’t need Calgon to take me away after visiting here! My ideal adventure would be to swim with the dolphins-well I would first have to learn to swim LOL!

And last but definitely not least, I would love to go to South Africa. I would love to visit that region more for a mission trip rather than for vacation purposes( although the chance to take a safari does sound rather intriguing…). I guess there’s nothing wrong with mixing business with pleasure!!

There are a whole lot more places I would love to travel in the world. I can thank this book I got from Half Price Books for opening my eyes to all the beautiful places there are on this amazing planet.

Hopefully I will get to cross them off one at a time 🙂 So tell me what location is on your bucket list of travel? I would love to hear about it!

Until next post,

Brittany
