Spring Carnival with UncommonGoods

This past weekend the weather was beautiful! Last week, there were tornadoes, thunderstorms, and hail storms in my area so I can definitely appreciate a warm and sunny Spring day. My friend Addie and I decided to make the most of our Sunday afternoon by hanging out a local carnival. I knew we would be moving around a lot- walking, riding rides, playing games, eating fattening fair food (don’t judge me)- so I opted to wear something relaxed. What is more relaxed than blue jeans and a basic white tee? Basic outfits can easily be jazzed up with unique accessories. I paired this outfit of the day with my current go-to sea glass blue aviator sunglasses, my turquoise and black backpack from my first trip to Mexico, and this dainty horseshoe pendant c/o UncommonGoods.

I absolutely love this handcrafted necklace by jewelry designer Dana Reed.  The silver droplet detail and the rose gold inner ring immediately caught my eye. The quality is amazing. As soon as I saw it on the website, I knew I had to own it.

I love buying items from companies who give back. For me, it’s justification an added incentive to shop. I get something sparkly for me and a great charity receives a donation. That, my friends, is the definition of a win-win situation. A portion of the proceeds from each sale on uncommongoods.com is donated to charities and organizations like RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization and City Harvest, a charity that strives to end hunger in communities throughout New York City through food rescue, distribution, and education through the organization’s Better to Give program.

The carnival turned out to be pretty fun. We enjoyed some cotton candy, people watched, snap chatted, and rode on a supercharged ferris wheel. I got shocked numerous times trying to get off that bright yellow slide but overall I had a good time hanging out with my friend! Thank goodness the sun decided to grace us with its presence, if only for a moment.

I love the basic white and jeans style, it is my go-to outfit for pretty much anything! I really love the picture of you on that yellow slide!

Thanks Jasmine. I love that look as well. It’s really like a blank canvas. You can make it as dressy or casual as you like.
