Love! It’s so simple!

Amidst all the Chic-fil-A controversy here in the U.S. (as if we don’t have anything else going on in the world), I want you all to remember one thing-LOVE. If you are not from the U.S. you may not be aware of the issue so I will give you a brief overview. Apparently the owner of Chic-fil-A stated that he was against homosexuals getting married and felt that marriage should be as it was created to be in accordance to the Bible. He got a lot of flack from the media and some cities even wanted to ban him for opening new establishments. Just overboard in my opinion. Last time I checked Americans had the right to free speech. But I digress. Anyway so a drove of Americans decided to show support of the owner and his views by eating at Chic-Fil-A on yesterday. In response, some LGBT community members have decided to do a “kiss-in” inside Chic-Fil-A on Friday. Personally I think everyone needs to have a seat!!

Matthew 22:37 gives us a command which states “thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”. Although we may not agree with our neighbor, we still have the responsibility to treat them with respect and love them like we love ourselves.  I know I love me some me! So of course I LOVE YOU too 🙂 I think this world would be a much better place if we could just love one another instead of being so judgmental of each other.

God is the ULTIMATE  judge and truly the only one whose opinion matters. That doesn’t mean that you can’t share your beliefs with people with opposing views to yours. I am a Christian but I realize only God has the power to change people. Eating chicken at Chic-fil-A won’t make a difference! I also don’t think that bashing a group of people because of their sexual preference will make them want to even have a personal relationship with God. Put yourself in their shoes- if someone was constantly negative toward you, looking down on you, etc. would you want to be associated with them? Chances are you probably would want to get as far away from them as possible. I know I would! We are just pushing our LGBT neighbors further and further away from salvation because we as Christians are not portraying God as the loving and forgiving God He really is! No one is perfect and the only sin that will not be forgiven is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 12:31) not homosexuality!

I know many of you may not agree with this ranting post but I stand next to what I have written here. I said all that just to say this JUST LOVE ONE ANOTHER!! People from all religions can do that! Will you choose to love?? Take the pledge: Even if I don’t agree, I’ll love & love again!
