A Dining Room Story
‘Twas the day before Thanksgiving
and at the Carson place
was a busy Brittany panicking
because she had an empty dining space.
She had family arriving for dinner the next day
but she grew calmer knowing she could
make her dining room great.
So off to At Home, World Market, and Hobby Lobby she went
with a vision in mind and money to be spent.
She returned home with decor, furniture, and textiles galore,
one would have thought that she bought up the store.
(She didn’t though cause she had set a clear budget
and no matter how cute the item she would not go above it!)
She styled up her room with the help of her hubby.
At a quarter to midnight, she finished. Isn’t it lovely?
Wait! To truly appreciate this room’s transformation, I think it is important for me to share what the room looked like when we first purchased our new home.
It was a peachy brown dungeon. First item on the agenda, change the wall color and take down the dated chandelier!
We had the old chandelier removed and recessed lighting installed. We also had the room painted in a contrasting color scheme to give it a more modern feel. For months, this room has been an empty space because I was working on other rooms in my house. Here is the final product.
Dining Room Details
Chairs: World Market (so glad I got them during the sale!) // Custom Table: The Iman Project +Lavender & Mint Designs // Rugs: At Home Wall Art & candles: Hobby Lobby // Table Runner, Napkins, Stemware, &Candle Holders: HomeGoods // Chargers & Flowers: Michaels
I love the outcome!! I plan to add some curtains to the window once I find some to compliment the space. If you have any suggestions for the color, pattern, or fabric type for the curtains let me know in the comments section below.

All I can say is wow what a transformation. In such a short time. Love the colors and I would never leave those chairs. The art
work is wonderful looking on that wall.

Thank you Candy! The artwork is probably my favorite part of the room.
I love the quote in your artwork. What a perfect sentiment to have where you gather. 🙂

I love that Bible verse. I knew it had to be place in the center of the 3 pieces I used to create the large artwork. I’m so glad you love it 🙂
This looks beautiful!!!

Thank you so much!
Absolutely gorgeous! I love the flower arrangement in the center of the table. I always try to keep my centerpieces low so we
can all see each other. With your centerpiece, you can see each other, but have it tall as well! Love it!

Thank you so much! I initially made a low flower arrangement for this table but it didn’t look quite as elegant as I envisioned. I decided to use the eiffel tower vase I had in my decor closet to create a centerpiece with the same flowers and loved the outcome! That simple change made a big impact!
