Diner en Blanc Dallas 2017

I’ve had the pleasure of attending a lot of foodie events this past year. One of my favorite events of 2017 was Diner en Blanc Dallas. If you’ve never heard of DEB, you can learn more about Diner en Blanc here. This was the second time I’ve attended DEB Dallas and I must say this year’s event upstaged last year’s event and I loved EVERY SECOND of it! To put it into perspective, I would compare last year’s event to going to local bingo hall during senior citizen’s night. It was definitely fun but could have been a bit more exciting.  This year’s Diner en Blanc Dallas was akin to attending a Bruno Mars concert.  If you followed my InstaStory during the event, you know it was LIT.

The 3rd annual all white soirée was held at the historic Dallas Arboretum, which happens to be my absolute favorite location in Dallas. Once the location was announced, I knew without a doubt this party was going to be awesome. DEB Dallas 2017 included a cool henna station, a live band, and multiple photo booths presented by Southwest Airlines, the platinum sponsor for the event. There was also a drum line that blessed us with their talent before an electrifying DJ got the party hype. He had the majority of the attendees on the dance floor within minutes. There were people on the lawn twerking, fist pumping, jumping, and wobbling everywhere! That was definitely the highlight of my evening. I danced so hard I had to come out of my shoes! Being the ever prepared style maven that I am, I had a back up pair jeweled sandals in my purse. Quick switcheroo and I was back in action.

After working up a sweat from dancing and from it being an unseasonably warm October evening, I returned to the media lounge for a drink and some of the yummiest tapas and desserts. My favorite was the shrimp and cheese dip with toast. I secretly wanted to take some of that dip home in my purse but I was trying not to be sophistirachet. Overall, it was an absolutely amazing event. The DEB Dallas team and sponsors Southwest Airlines, Merrill Lynch Raehpour Group, Lincoln Motor Company, and Evian Badoit did an outstanding job with all the logistics and execution for this event! I’m still trying to figure out how they will outdo themselves for next year.
